A weird world that we live in!
We are born pure and innocent, then,
Taught biases by those we look up to,
Intentionally, seldom inadvertently.
To judge individuals by their origin,
Their race, the pigment in their skin,
Even more, the shape of their eyelids!
That our difference is bad, not good,
To be treated as foe and not friend!
So it’s us normal against them odd.
Later we learn the folly of these ways,
But by then, it is mostly too late.
Prejudice has become a form of currency,
A way of life, too difficult to give up.
Thus we help propagate the status quo,
Apathy at best, by giving it a blind eye.
A weird world that we live in!
